FITE Organized Lawyers Meet on July 8, 2017 at Pune, Maharashtra
Around 125+ IT employees’ from TechM, Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, and Syntel etc. from Pune / Mumbai location joined Lawyer’s meet organized on July 8, 2017 at Pune, Maharashtra, which was a collective efforts put forth from FITE volunteers and Lok Raj Sangathan by distributing pamphlets in Hinjewadi, Pune area on July 7, 2017 to bring awareness among the IT employees.
Justice B. G. Kolse Patil – Former High Court Judge, addressed to everyone with the ONLY solution to all problems of IT employees facing in current situation is forming a ‘Union’. Further he mentioned that under Trade Union Act 19, we have all the legal rights to form IT Union.
He educated IT professionals on the importance of forming union, how it would improve the working conditions as well as how to stop the illegal layoff currently happening in IT industry.
Dilip Pawar (TechM, Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, and Syntel (Shramik Ekta Mahasang) explicitly addressed about our laws and constitution for our own rights. IT layoff issues are bigger than they look and now it is right time to fight against all odd so that government can identify/address the legal rights an IT employee should have and provide legal progressive solutions to IT profession. Collective questionnaire regarding illegal layoffs, notice period, compensation, harassment, rights to form IT union, and various laws etc. were shared with lawyer’s panel a week before by FITE volunteers.
Adv. Santosh Mhaske and Adv. Jagdale elaborated the ‘rights of employees’ under Trade Union Acts, 1926 Indian Tribunal act, and Organization of Trade Union Act. Also further conveyed a message to all by saying that, as a citizen and working in India we have all the rights provided by Indian constitution with its binding on IT industry.
Thanks to Justice B.G. Kolse Patil (Former High Court Judge), Lok Raj Sangathan, Dilip Pawar (Bajaj Auto Union), Santhosh Kanse (Shramik Ekata Mahasangh), IT employees across Maharashtra and others for making this event successful and also extended their unequivocal support required to form IT union.
Motivation by all seasoned labour lawyers and their guidance has put a new enthusiasm to this legal fight IT employees’ are starting under the banner of FITE and with the help of all likeminded trade unions.
FITE coordinator Elavarasan Raja informed that more meetings will be conducted in different parts of Pune / Mumbai to get possible help to each affected individual from FITE.
