We Shall not rest until NEET is banned
People of Tamilnadu are having tough times these days with various problems affecting each and every commoner in the state. One of the very important issues that invoked protests from students, educationalists and people from all sectors is the sad demise of Ms. Anitha, who committed suicide due to NEET exam that dissolved her ambition of becoming a doctor. Protests are being carried out all over Tamil Nadu following Anitha’s suicide, and IT workers also joined them showcasing their support towards banning NEET exam in Tamil Nadu and to move education system under state government.
On September 6, 2017 Forum for IT Employees (FITE) Women’s wing, led by FITE’s President Vasumathi, organized candle light vigil to pay condolences to Anitha. Following that another gathering was planned near DLF IT Park at Ramapuram on September 8, 2017. But, it was not held as FITE’s Secretary Mr. Snabak Vinod and FITE’s President Ms. Vasumathi were detained and taken to the Police station atrociously.
Today (September 13, 2017), FITE (Forum for IT Employees) called IT workers to wear black shirt to their office to insist NEET ban and to show their support to students who are protesting to ban NEET exam in Tamil Nadu permanently. Based on that, many IT workers wore black shirt today and registered their support. Pictures of them are being virally shared in social media.
Forum for IT Employees (FITE) thanks all IT employees who strongly showed their support for NEET ban by wearing black shirt.
Until NEET exam is banned permanently in Tamil Nadu and education system is moved under state government, every day is black day for us. We shall not rest unless our future generation’s education rights are restored.
